Eastern Red-cedar Juniperus virginiana
Family: Cupressaceae (Cypress)
Branching: Evergreen
This tree is similar to Eastern White-cedar, but not as common. It is
separated mainly by its rounded needles (rather than flat) and the
bluish-red colour the tree has (rather than yellowish). Its bark
looks similar though; they both become slightly shreddy and
reddish-looking. Its fruits are typical of other Junipers.
